In addition to working with Ideal, Marlin also contracted with other tool makers. Here is an early model Winchester iron mold marked "M.F.A. Co". This mold is an early model lacking the block alignment pin and showing no "Winchester Repeating Arms Co" marking either.

And, not to be left behind....here is a BGI mold with the distinctive gracefully shaped handles and marked "M.F.A. Co.". Notice the interesting caliber marking. The "G" may refer to "Government", but, more likely, it distinquishes the "grooved" from the "patched" types of bullet. The cavity on this mould is identical with those seen in 1881 Marlin tools in 45-70. Rarely one also finds Sharps pattern molds marked "M.F.A".
