Here is a composite image showing two Cramer multicavity molds. According to Kenneth Walters, many of these molds have only a crudely stamped number on one side of the blocks. Kenneth speculates that the number may correspond to the bullet design used for production of the particular mold in question. He also notes that some examples may be marked with the Cramer name in large block letters on the side. The removable wooden handles are quite distinctive and help identify these examples as Cramers. The casting blocks are hinged and the three block design is somewhat remniscent of the brass suppository molds used by pharmacists in the mid 19th century. Kenneth notes he is only aware of Hall and Cramer molds being made with the "three piece" design. Kenneth is looking for additional examples or information about these interesting old tools.
