Here is another of the "Ladd-type" tools. This 50 caliber one is unmarked, but has the rare Berdan decapping chisel built into the handle. Only a couple of similar tools are known. This tool and other Ladd tools are covered by Tom Quigley in The Gun Report, Volume 42, number 2, p. 22-27 (July 1996) in an article entitled "C. D. Ladd Loading Tools and Their Kin".

Here is a great Ladd-style mould for 50 paper patch bullet. Notice how this rather long bullet exhausts the height of the blocks in the lower insert. Faint traces of original gold finish are seen on the handles.
