At first glance, this appears to be a pretty ordinary Ideal #3 tool in 303 Savage caliber. However, notice Savage's trademark Indian head on the box. This is one of the few boxed tools seen showing the Savage trademark. This was a way Savage could increase public exposure to their tradename and characteristic trademark, yet not have to develop the necessary capital and equipment to actually manufacture the tools themselves.
Here is a closer view image showing some detail of the Savage trademark. If you look carefully where the label is torn, you can tell that the label bearing the Savage trademark was placed on top of the usual Ideal label, thus making the transformation a fairly easy one. There are no Savage markings on the tool itself.
