
The Bridgeport Gun Implement Co. of Bridgeport, Connecticut was one of the major suppliers of loading tools and accessories for sportsmen. Marcellus Hartley founded the B. G. I. Co. in 1878. Charles D. Leet whose company Marcellus Hartley purchased was the manager of the B. G. I. Co. for a period of time. B. G. I. Co. sold tools in sets that ranged from basic to very complete; some of which included gun-cleaning implements along with loading tools. Most B. G. I. Co. tools are marked with the company name and a number.
