The Ideal Straight Line Re- and Decapper was patented by John Barlow and Joseph Derby and assigned to the Ideal Mfg. Co. on December 24, 1901 as No. 689,699 made for paper and brass shells in gauges from 10 through 28. They sold for $1.50 back then. Here is an example.
