The Winchester 1888 tool was a mechanical marvel, but never achieved significant sales, and is fairly scarce nowadays. The tool was the first incorporating a full length sizing die, itself, removable from the main part of the tool. The caliber marking is only seen on the die, and those are frequently separated from the main tool making determination of the original caliber difficult. These tools were described as "The New Model Reloading Tool" in company catalogs. They were tedious to use with the operator having to run the screw anvil in and out for each cartridge.
